Luxury packaging design
For luxury products whose first physical moment matters: structural and graphic packaging, designed to be opened slowly and kept long after.
PACKAGING
The moment a client lifts the lid is the moment your brand becomes real to them. BCLR is a luxury branding and packaging studio. We design packaging from rigid boxes and gift sets to membership cards and packs, and manage every run with specialist manufacturers, so that moment is never left to chance.
What is luxury packaging design?
Luxury packaging design is the design of a pack’s structure, surface and opening sequence, so the first physical encounter with a brand carries the same standard as the product inside. It is judged by weight, texture and the experience of opening as much as by its graphics.
For you, packaging is the part of the brand a client can hold, keep and photograph. Done well, it raises the perceived value of everything inside it, turns a delivery into an occasion and is remembered long after the product is in use. Done carelessly, it quietly lowers the price a client believes you are worth.
BCLR is a luxury branding studio serving London and the UK. Every BCLR project is led by our founders and Creative Directors, Beth Clawson and Leon Reeve, who are present at every private consultation. A packaging range typically takes six to ten weeks from brief to approved sample, with production time depending on materials and quantities. Where the brand itself needs attention first, packaging begins with your identity.
Luxury Packaging Design questions
-
Every packaging project we take on is bespoke, so there is no price list. Design investment reflects the number of components and structures, and manufacturing is quoted separately once materials and quantities are known. We begin with a private consultation and set everything out in writing before work begins.
-
Weight, restraint and sequence. A rigid structure with a considered closure, materials that feel good to touch, minimal graphics and an opening that reveals the product slowly do more than any amount of decoration. Every detail, from the board to the ribbon, should feel chosen for the product rather than taken from a catalogue.
-
Yes. BCLR works directly with specialist packaging manufacturers: we specify materials and construction, request and approve samples, and oversee each run through production. You deal with one studio rather than a supply chain, and what arrives at your door matches what was designed and approved.
-
Yes. BCLR designs membership cards in metal, board and specialist stocks, together with the packs they arrive in, for members’ clubs, private memberships and loyalty programmes. The card and its presentation are designed as one, so joining feels like an occasion rather than a transaction.
-
Minimums depend on the structure and materials. Rigid boxes and specialist finishes usually carry higher minimums than sleeves or folding cartons. We advise on quantities at the start and design to suit the run you need. Where quantities are small, we suggest structures that keep the standard without the cost of a large run.
-
A packaging range typically takes six to ten weeks from brief to approved sample. Production then depends on materials and quantities, and the full timeline is agreed before work begins. Seasonal and launch dates are built into the plan from the start.
-
Yes. Packaging is often the first place an established brand is refined. BCLR designs within your existing identity rather than around it, so the new packaging feels like a natural part of the brand your clients already know, presented to the standard your product deserves.
-
Yes. Repeat runs, seasonal editions and reprints can be handled through the Print Concierge, with every run checked against the approved sample so each one matches the last. It removes the drift that creeps in when packaging is reordered by different people at different times.
-
Usually both. A manufacturer makes the pack; a branding and packaging studio decides what it should be and how it should feel. BCLR designs the structure and surface, then manages specialist manufacturers through to delivery, so you have one point of contact.

With a private consultation: an unhurried conversation about your business and what your product needs, and a chance for us both to decide whether BCLR is the right fit. If it is, we follow with a written proposal setting out scope, investment and timeline. Request a private consultation.
